Building in the Swiss style
Lindstrøm 1899 is one of our oldest buildings, known as “Nybu”. It was built to extend the hotel operation and quickly became popular among the English salmon enthusiasts who came to Lærdal to fish.
Lindstrøm Hotel is a mix of old and new styles. Designs from the 19th century are allowed to interplay with newer Scandinavian design. Enjoy beautiful classic wallpapers in one room and modern furniture design in another.

Some of the furnishings are original while others were acquired over the years. We like to mix old and new, while keeping the cosy atmosphere.
All the rooms are different and unique. Scandinavian design meets the 19th century, with colours and furnishings that work well together. Feel at home.
The main hotel building was built in the 1960s by architects Jon and Claus Lindstrøm. A solid building that houses reception, a souvenir shop, dining rooms, a bar and most of the rooms.
All the public areas feature stylish and beautiful Scandinavian design, which gives a feeling of wellbeing and cosiness - a place to find peace and a cosy, home-like atmosphere.
Our rooms have a clean, pure style with fine details. All our rooms have bathrooms, TV and free internet. Feel at home.
From Lindstrøm Hotel you can wander backwards through history.
